Will Sheehan and Will MacLeod highlight 21U REL award winners
TRAC Athletics is proud to announce the 21U Rock Elite League 2021/22 season award winners.
Soon after Team Kri captures this season’s REL Cup, 20 MVP finalists were confirmed, a group featuring some of the most highly skilled and prominent Junior-aged players in the province. An inaugural lineup of awards named in honour of past Toronto Rock legends were also announced.
During the month of April, winners for all of the awards were shared on TRAC Athletics’ social medial (@TRACAthletics). The first-ever winners of these prestigious honours are:
21U Rock Elite League Year-End Awards
Jim Veltman Award (MVP): Will Sheehan, Team Kri
Bob Watson Award (Goalie Team of the Year): Kaleb Martin & Evan Constantopoulos, Team Kri
Pat Coyle Award (Defensive Player of the Year): Ben Wittich, Team Kri
Steve Toll Award (Transition Player of the Year): Isaac Wills, Team Jay
Colin Doyle Award (Scoring Champion): Will MacLeod, Team Kri
Josh Sanderson Award (Assists Leader): Will MacLeod, Team Kri
Blaine Manning Award (Goals Leader): Will MacLeod, Team Kri
Sandy Chapman Award (Heart & Hustle): Ty Jesso, Team Kri & Chris Rathwell, Team Rogers
Terry Sanderson Award (Coaching Staff of the Year): Adam Jay & Riley Hutchcraft, Team Jay
Dan Stroup Award (Post-Season MVP): Will MacLeaod, Team Kri
The Bob Watson Award is be presented to the goalie tandem/team deemed to be the season’s best.
The Sandy Chapman Award is presented to the player(s) that best exemplified the same drive, determination, heart and hustle that Rock defensive legend Sandy Chapman played with during his entire NLL career.
