Proof of vaccination required indoors at TRAC starting September 22

TRAC Athletics recognizes the significant impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on sports and league play. We understand how important lacrosse is to our members and are committed to doing what is necessary to keep our game as safe as possible for the 2021-22 season.

In keeping with the most recent government announcements and recommendations for amateur sports leagues, effective September 22, 2021, TRAC Athletics will require proof of COVID-19 immunization for all vaccine eligible participants (12 years of age and above and/or unless exempted) including players, coaches, officials, staff, and volunteers in order to participate in TRAC Athletics indoor programming.

As stated in the Government Ontario news releases in the link provided above, “As of September 22, 2021, Ontarians will need to be fully vaccinated (two doses plus 14 days) and provide their proof of vaccination along with photo ID to access certain public settings and facilities. This approach focuses on higher-risk indoor public settings where face coverings cannot always be worn…”.

In order to enter the TRAC while adhering to government requirements, vaccine eligible participants (12 years of age and above and/or unless exempted) will have needed to have received their second vaccine dose as of September 8, 2021 or earlier (to allow for the 14 mandated days to have passed). Vaccine eligible participants who only receive their second dose after September 8, 2021 will need to add those 14 additional days to that date in order to determine when they meet the province’s requirements for entry into higher-risk indoor public settings like the TRAC.

As the pandemic continues, TRAC Athletics will take all reasonable steps within its power to reduce the spread of COVID-19. High vaccine uptake in Ontario combined with other public health measures, masking, and physical distancing, will provide us with the best opportunity to keep our athletes on the floor and support return to regular team play.

Further details regarding implementation of this Policy, exemption qualifications, providing proof of vaccination, etc. will be announced shortly.
