Open Tryouts throughout first three weeks of July + Final 24 Evaluations July 23
The 2024-25 Rock Stars tryout process will include an Open Tryout which will take place throughout the first three weeks of July, and new this year, Final 24 Evaluations on July 23. Players who are asked to move on after the Open Tryouts will be invited to the Final 24 Evaluations, which will serve as the final tryout day prior to Rock Stars rosters being selected.
Additional details of this year’s new two-step tryout process will be shared by TRAC Athletics Director Colin Doyle during our annual parent meetings which will take place at the TRAC approximately 45 minutes before each age group’s tryout time on Day 1.
Tryouts for the following birth years will be held this year:
Boys: 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014
Girls: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012
Boys/Girls Developmental: 2015/2016
The Final 24 Evaluations will not apply to the Rock Stars Developmental Team (2015/2016) led by TRAC Athletics Director Dan Dawson. The Developmental Team will be a training-only team.
This past fall & winter, the Rock Stars trained at the TRAC weekly (box, field and sixes), took part in competitive league play through the Rock Elite League (for boys age groups only), and competed in various events & tournaments at the TRAC, within the province, and in the US. A similar schedule will take place for the 2024-25 Rock Stars season. More specific details regarding training, tournament, etc. dates will be shared during the pre-tryout parent meetings.
The tryouts will include both box & field lacrosse evaluations by TRAC Athletics & Rock Stars coaches. Player headshots will also be taken during the tryouts (times TBA). Players will receive a reversible TRAC Athletics pinnie provided by the Toronto Rock Lacrosse Shop as part of the tryout cost.
