Peyton Booth confirms commitment to admissions process at Cornell

Peyton Booth has confirmed his commitment to the admissions process at Cornell University this week.

A highly regarded attackman at St. Anne’s-Belfield School in Charlottesville, Virginia, Booth also competed with the Rock Stars earlier this year and was one of the top players at the Canadian Box Showcase presented by TRAC Athletics this past July.

Booth led the 2006 CBS Division in goals (11), assists (13) and points (24) over four games and was later named to the All-CBS First Team for his standout performance. The event was attended by a number of highly regarded collegiate programs, including Cornell.

“I have learned a lot from playing for Coach Colin Doyle and by watching him play too,” said Booth. “Having him coach me while playing with the Rock Stars set me up for success during this important summer.

“The whole Rock Stars staff is so amazing and I would 100% recommend anyone who wants to improve their game and have dreams of making it to the next level play for them.”

Booth was one of the few Americans that represented the Rock Stars in 2022, impressing immensely both with the team and then again at the Canadian Box Showcase, where Cornell Head Coach Connor Buczek took notice of Peyton’s play.

“The Canadian Box Showcase really helped me get to where I want to be,” said Booth. “The event had top-caliber coaches, like Coach Buczek, in attendance over the two days.

“I believe competing in that event really helped my efforts to showcase my skills outside of the US and outside of just field lacrosse.”

Booth, who has a diverse box background having also represented US Indoor Lacrosse, recently confirmed he’ll be playing for the Ontario Junior Lacrosse League’s Toronto Beaches in 2023.

“I am very thankful to the TRAC, Coach Doyle, and the Rock Stars program for helping me throughout my process to reach my dreams of not only playing Division I lacrosse at an amazing university, but also opening doors for me to play Junior A,” added Booth. “What they are doing as an organization is fantastic and anyone who gets the opportunity to be part of it won’t be disappointed.”

The Rock Stars recently started their 2022/23 season. The Canadian Box Showcase will return in 2023. Stay tuned for further details on the highly anticipated event’s second instalment next summer.
