2023 Border Wars: Gold, silver and bronze medal winners

The biggest edition of Border Wars yet took place from December 15-17, 2023 at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville, Ontario, as well as Memorial Arena, in Brampton, Ontario.

For the first time since the tournament began in 2021, Border Wars included girls divisions featuring Canadian, American and Haudenosaunee talent. In total, seven boys & girls divisions (U13, U15, U17 and High School Elite levels) featured 35 talented teams in 84 high-stakes games.

The host Rock Stars captured five gold medals across seven divisions, plus added five silver and a solo bronze medal to their 2023 Border Wars total.

Prior to this year’s event, only one American club had ever won gold at this even (Roots  Box Lacrosse won U15 goal in 2021). This year, two division titles went to US-based programs with an extremely impressive Team Superstar side winning gold in this year’s most competitive division at Girls High School Elite, and Midnight Rider securing gold at the Boys U15 division. Both clubs were making their first appearance at Border Wars.

“An amazing group of girls & parents and phenomenal coaching by Mark Winkler, Scott Bacigalupo and Charlie Shoulberg,” said Team Superstar Director/Coach and former National Lacrosse League great Roy Colsey. “Thank you TRAC Athletics for hosting our teams. One of the best events we have been to, in the best box lacrosse facility in the world!”

Below, see who won gold, silver and bronze in all seven stacked divisions. Plus, over the upcoming holidays, stay tuned for our All-Tournament Team and MVP selections.
