Andrew Suitor added to high-profile Rock Stars coaching staff

This past weekend, Rock Stars Elite Lacrosse Program players were introduced to a new coach that will be joining them for the remainder of the 2021/22 season.

Recently retired from the National Lacrosse League, Andrew Suitor was announced by TRAC Athletics Director, Colin Doyle, as the latest addition to the program’s already highly regarded coaching staff.

“He’s been a captain and leader everywhere he’s played,” said Doyle. “After a decade of competing in the NLL, Suitor is already making a name for himself through coaching as well, and we’re extremely happy to have him here working with our Rock Stars players.”

Suitor spent ten seasons in the NLL playing for the Minnesota Swarm, New England Black Wolves, Rochester Knighthawks, Vancouver Stealth, and New York Riptide. The former fourth overall draft pick is a multiple Minto (Junior ‘A’) and Mann (Senior ‘A’) Cup winner and was named the NLL’s Transition Player of the Year in just his second season playing professionally. Suitor has already coached in the Ontario Junior Lacrosse League (OJLL) with the Mimico Mountaineers, as well as the Orangeville minor system where his teams have won pee wee and bantam titles, twice each.

“I’m excited to be joining the Rock Stars to teach the passion and pride of playing this game we all love,” said Suitor, who spent this past Saturday meeting the various U13, U15 and U17 Rock Stars teams at the TRAC.

Andrew Suitor alongside Orangeville Northmen captains Adam Jones, Glen Bryan, and Greg Harnett after winning the OJLL’s Iroquois Trophy in 2010.

The highly respected Suitor joins a Rock Stars staff that includes past and present NLL players: Colin Doyle, Challen Rogers, Dan Dawson, Anthony Cosmo, Brandon Miller, Ian Llord, Adam Jay, Latrell Harris, Zach Manns, Jamison Dilks, and others. The team has also had guest coaching appearances highlighted recently by Tom Schreiber and Kylie Ohlmiller.

The Rock Stars are an elite lacrosse program that provide players with the best available coaching, training, and competition in the country. The teams also compete in the Rock Elite League and Rock Elite Development League, as well as hosting & travelling to various field, box and sixes events in Canada and the United States. The team’s next tournament will be Border Wars from December 18-19 at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre. Earlier this year, the Rock Stars hosted the In-N-Out Challenge at the TRAC.
