Rock Elite League

Founded in 2012 soon after the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre officially opened its doors, the Rock Elite League has grown into one of the sport’s most popular box lacrosse leagues, offering off-season development and competitive game-play opportunities from the U9 to the 21U age groups.

Ensuring players always have fun, especially at the younger divisions, the REL has also seen dozens of alumni excel collegiately and professionally. In recent seasons, the following former REL players have competed in the National Lacrosse League: Jake Fox, Tanner Buck, Robert Hudson, Ryan Smith, Andrew Kew, Chris Boushy, Rylan Hartley, Cam Dunkerley, Nick Damude, Nolan Clayton, Landon Kells, Riley Hutchcraft, Troy Holowchuk, Aden Walsh, Jeff Wittig, Nicholas Volkov and Chris Origlieri.

The 21U year-end awards are named in honour of Toronto Rock legends, including the league’s MVP Award, the Jim Veltman Award. Veltman Award recipients include Will Sheehan (Yale University), Liam Matthews (Penn State University), Marcelo Carreiro (Mount Saint Mary’s University) and Matthew Ford (Richmond University).

The leagues are managed and coached by past and present Rock and NLL players, led by TRAC Athletics Directors Colin Doyle, Dan Dawson and Challen Rogers.
