Rock Elite League

Founded in 2012 soon after the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre officially opened its doors, the Rock Elite League has grown into one of the sport’s most popular box lacrosse leagues, offering off-season development and competitive game-play opportunities from the U9 to the 21U age groups.

Ensuring players always have fun, especially at the younger divisions, the REL has also seen dozens of alumni excel collegiately and professionally. In recent seasons, the following former REL players have competed in the National Lacrosse League: Jake Fox, Tanner Buck, Robert Hudson, Ryan Smith, Andrew Kew, Chris Boushy, Rylan Hartley, Cam Dunkerley, Nick Damude, Nolan Clayton, Landon Kells, Riley Hutchcraft, Troy Holowchuk, Aden Walsh, Jeff Wittig, Nicholas Volkov and Chris Origlieri.

The 21U year-end awards are named in honour of Toronto Rock legends, including the league’s MVP Award, the Jim Veltman Award. Veltman Award recipients include Will Sheehan (Yale University), Liam Matthews (Penn State University) and Marcelo Carreiro (Mount Saint Mary’s University).

The leagues are managed and coached by past and present Rock and NLL players, led by TRAC Athletics Directors Colin Doyle, Dan Dawson and Challen Rogers.

2024-25 REL HIGHLIGHTS

– The U9–U15 age groups will continue to play on Sundays, while the U17 and 21U divisions will compete on Monday evenings. Click here to see all the dates each division will play this season.

– There will be no tryouts. Once divisions have reached capacity, players who register will be added to a waitlist. The U17 & 21U division will still have their annual evaluation night prior to teams being announced.

– Players selected for the 2024-25 Rock Stars Boys teams will again compete in this year’s leagues and are required to register through the appropriate below links. Rock Stars will be placed on rosters throughout the league in their appropriate division, again, to keep rosters balanced.

– As part of the registration fee, players will receive a uniform provided by the Toronto Rock Lacrosse Shop.

NEW!! IN-SEASON REL TOURNAMENT

For the first time ever, TRAC Athletics will be hosting an in-season REL tournament (U9-U15) during the holidays (Dec. 29 & 30, 2024). This event is exclusive to 2024-25 REL registered participants.

The two-day event will add an additional level of competition and excitement to this year’s season, allowing players to battle for the tournament title. The same rosters that compete during the REL regular season, will suit up for this special event alongside those teammates as well.

The tournament is included in player’s regular REL registration fees (see below). There is no additional cost to take part in the REL in-season tournament.
